No - all my non-formal outfits are basically variations on "identical jeans + band shirt + band hoodie + trainers", and my formal outfits are all "men's shirt + smart trousers", so not much planning is necessary. 5. How are you feeling RIGHT now? EXTREMELY ANNOYED because the wedding party over the road is playing music so loud that I can't sleep. 6. Whats the closest thing to you that is red? The fire extinguisher Tommy Lee is holding in my Motley Crue poster. 7. What was the last dream you remember having? Can't remember any of my dreams, really. They get very muddled up very quickly. Ooh, Ye Olde BBC, I think. At least, I'm besotted with BBC3 (TORCHWOOD AND DOCTOR WHO REPEATS YAYY). But then again...Channel 4 is good because they have More4, which I ADORE, and ITV has ITV3 which has the Jeeves and Wooster reruns, and then Five has House...ooer. THE INTERNET. There we go. =P If you could create your own channel, what would it be? METALHEAD LESBIAN PORN, 24/7. Er. Maybe not, then. I think perhaps a proper, actual, REAL metal channel. Like, extreme metal. A 5th generation, 30GB black iPod, which is covered in a very pretty decal. =D 02. What format of music do you listen to most often? mp3s, but I'm not picky - whatever it comes as. 03. How do you get your electronic music files? (pay service [i.e Napster, iTunes, eMusic, etc.], file sharing, artist/label web sites, etc.) Upload blogs, for preference. I've moved away from p2p programs and the whole Gnutella network because I was getting really sick of bad porn and erroneously named songs. So, blogs for me. 04. What type of headphones do you use? Black Griffin EarThumps. They're great, but the little rubber bits that fit in your ears, on account of being detachable, get lost very easily, which is really annoying. They break quite easily, too; I have to buy a new pair every six months to a year. They take pretty damn heavy use, though; two hours on the bus a day, plus being carried around all day in my bag. So they do pretty well, I think. I have some big DJ headphones for my keyboard, though. I think they're Sony, and they're pretty great; they've got a good sound quality, certainly. 05. Pick one label you wish could be put on you. Er. Success? 4. What is one kind of label that you think is universally wrong to use (race, gender, height)? To use as a judgement criteria? Or just as an identification? Because I think most labels are wrong to use as judgement criteria but labels are the source of our identification, and it's hard to form a mental picture of someone without resorting to at least one of them. As a judgement criteria, then: race, sexuality, gender. The usual suspects. 5. Labels, used intelligently, can be a convenient rhetorical shorthand for identifying how a given person will fit into (or react to) a given situation. Labels, used incorrectly, can be an excuse for dismissing the differences still inherent in the people to whom the label is applied. Discuss. Yes, exactly. EXACTLY. It's reasonable to assume that, say, someone to whom the term 'racist' applies will not support a race relations bill. However, to say that all racists are as one would be incorrect. And, whilst I'm comfortable with most of the labels attached to me - after all, I influenced or chose most of them - I don't like the idea that people base my personality structure entirely off those labels. Just because I'm a metalhead, a lesbian, a Whovian, a musician, an atheist, etc, doesn't necessarily mean that I fit into any of those stereotypes or have, actually, anything except a label in common with any of those people.
